Interested in learning how you can get involved in promoting pre-university science, engineering and technology education in your local community? Then you’ve come to the right place! The IEEE Pre-university Engineering Activity Search was created for you. Simply click on a category below to find a list of engineering activities that you could organize and implement in your local school district.
Activities detailed on this web site have been sorted into 12 categories. Each category contains a list of activities that have already been conducted by IEEE members and volunteers in their local communities. You can select any activity listed, modify it as you see fit, and bring the activity back to your local pre-university school district. For example, if you are interested in getting your child’s elementary school involved in an organized competition or activity you would click on the “Organized Competitions and Activities” link below and review the activities noted under that section. You could then select and modify one of those activities and conduct it in your child’s elementary school.
For each activity noted on this web site you are provided with the following information to help you assess the activity:
A brief description of the activity
Dates (when the competition or activity starts / ends and what the deadlines are)
Location
Grade Levels / Age of Students
Instruction Methods / Evaluation Methods (i.e.: participation level) / Support Materials
Volunteer Time Involved
Resources Involved
Costs Involved
Words of Advice
